The sun was out in all its glory today. The heat warmed the rich, brown floors as it streamed in through the windows. Unable to resist, I threw all the windows open and let the beautiful, cool breeze rush in and out as if it owned the place. The sunlight shone, filtered through the gorgeous gold leaves.
My thoughts wander to my sweet, little family. My darling toddler who has changed my life – who has shown me what it means to love unconditionally. I find myself looking at her so often during the day, as she goes about her usual toddler things daily, giving thanks for this gorgeous baby of mine, and also amazed at how she is growing and learning and exploring and loving everything about this life.
I reflect on this past year, all its ups and downs, and count my blessings, for they are many. I have worked so hard on decluttering my home and my life, and have done a good job. Still not where I envision it to be but so much closer than where I was at the beginning of the year. I have one more big purge this fall, and I believe I can look forward to the new year in a clutter-free, stress-free and beautiful home. I can’t wait!
I, also, think back on the relationships that have been sorted through, friendships that have withstood the test of time and trials, things have been prioritized, and life that has been de-stressed – and for all this, I am grateful. Deciding to simplify and minimize my home has spilled over into doing the same for every part of my life, and I am relishing this journey, and savoring every moment of it. Every new realization, every new path that it leads me to, every new thought it allows to enter now that my mind is free of all the unnecessary. It has been wonderful and I am working hard towards living a more conscious life.
Grateful for a beautiful fall day to inspire such reflection.
