A Beautiful Spring Day

April 14, 2011

Oh, what a beautiful morning! Oh, what a beautiful day! This morning, Aaron and I decided to go for a little walk right when we woke up. So we took off on a little jaunt around our pretty neighborhood, loving the freshness of the air, the dewdrops on the blades of grass, the blooming flowers of all different colors (although I am somewhat partial to tulips and daffodils.) The houses where we live are lovely to look at and each one has a different look and character – some are red brick homes, some are gray stone, some are vinyl siding, some with big front lawns that are well-manicured, others with smaller lawns and filled with flowers. Everywhere there are mature trees, rapidly covering up their naked branches with lush, green foliage and colorful flowers. Spring is certainly in the air!!!

Children walking to school; parents telling their kids to make sure and wash their hands after they go outside to play; men dressed in suits walking to the metro station to go off to work; mothers with little kids in strollers walking their older kids to school; neighbors walking out to the driveway in their pajamas to pick up their morning paper; people walking their cute doggies and getting their early morning exercise.

The sun fully risen and shining through the trees, making the dewdrops on the grass look like jewels glistening and beckoning one to take a closer look just to make sure; the branches of the trees swaying gently in the breeze; the birds in constant conversation with one another, chirping up a storm, eliciting a cacophony of responses that make it sound like we live in a forest.

Just a beautiful morning!
