We had some great seats, and the special effects were incredible! But most of all, Dickens words were timeless and made me reflect upon my life in a different way. It was wonderful to see families attend, and I resolved that I would introduce plays to my children from a very young age, so they could learn to appreciate the arts that Aaron and I so enjoy. Besides, it could save me a lot of babysitting money, as well! If you haven’t had a chance yet, please read ‘A Christmas Carol’ or watch the play. It will be an unforgettable experience!
“Men’s courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead,” said Scrooge. “But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. Say it is thus with what you show me!”
~ Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol ~
On December 6th, Aaron and I had the chance to create what will now be a Taylor Tradition—watching the play ‘A Christmas Carol’. It was at the historic Ford’s Theatre, which I have written about here. The intimacy of this theatre, coupled with the magical story of Christmas by Charles Dickens, made for an enjoyable evening to ring in the Christmas ‘spirit’.
