A lake is the landscape’s most beautiful and expressive feature. It is earth’s eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature. ~Henry David Thoreau
Last Saturday, I had the chance to take some Tolboe family pictures for their Christmas card this year. I was so excited to do this for them—a sweet family—and to visit a new part of my surroundings. Due to my hectic work schedule, I did not have the chance to learn about this place (I usually do my research on a place before I go) before I went there.
It was a perfect autumn day, and I was thrilled to do a road trip with Mr. Taylor, and see some friends I had not seen since the summer.
I was not prepared for the beauty I beheld as I pulled into the parking lot near the boat launch. The photograph above depicts the scene I encountered and I was amazed by God’s talent as an artist. Nature reflects his love for us and it always brings me closer to Him.
Burke Lake Park was beautiful and the Tolboes were wonderful!
I spent an hour taking photographs and breathing in the crisp, autumn air, surrounded by incredible colors of the season. I took in big gulps of clean air, and felt ever so grateful for the opportunity to live in this country and to experience these things that will forever stay imprinted in my memory.
Here is one of the pics I took of the Tolboes.
Thank you, Tolboe Family, for being so great at the photo shoot, and for introducing me to Burke Lake Park!
