Grace turns FIVE! In the blink of an eye, she is all grown up and ready for kindergarten this year. She had a wonderful day today! In the morning, Grace and I went shopping for her balloons and her pink princess dress. She was thrilled to be able to pick out her balloons and just have a fun date with Mommy. I cherish these alone times with her because I never seem to get a moment with her when I am at home surrounded by the other two little ones.
When we were done shopping, we returned home to set up her party table and decorations. This year, Mommy and Daddy gave her a beautiful princess tent with her choice of balloons. She was ecstatic!
We had just returned from vacation last week and I was under the impression that I had a whole other week before Grace’s big day. On Wednesday, I realized that her birthday was THIS weekend and not next weekend. Yikes! At the last minute, I contacted my dear friend, Sarah Smith, who is a talented baker, and asked if she could pull off making a simple princess birthday cake and some cupcakes. She came through in a tremendous way! Just check out this cake!
The girls could hardly contain their excitement. The squeals of delight were a dead giveaway that Sarah had done an amazing job! The cake was delicious and beautifully decorated. Way to go, Sarah!
Once the girls were all settled in and had devoured their cupcakes and lemonade, we got started on a fun activity – painting and decorating parasols! The girls loved doing this with glitter glue pens and jewel stickers. It got so quiet as seven 5-year old girls focused on making their parasols look beautiful 🙂 They did a wonderful job!
Aren’t they just adorable? While their works of art were drying, we assembled outside for a few fun photos. I loved seeing how much these little ones have grown since last year! They had so much fun!
Grace is blessed to have such a wonderful group of friends, and I am so grateful to the mommies who were willing to have their little girls come to celebrate Gracie’s special day with her. She loved every minute of it, loved all her presents, and went to bed, tired and happy. A perfectly perfect birthday for our little princess.
