Family time. The theme of this year. The first day of the new year turned out to be a rainy one. Determined to make good on the promise to spend time outdoors as a family, we loaded up in the care and headed to Clemyjontri Park – or the Rainbow Playground, as my kids call it. Two reasons we chose this place even though it is a bit of a drive – 1) the kids LOVE this place, and 2) it is all rubber flooring, which means, you can fall and not get hurt and most important, there is no mud to deal with after the rain.
The kids couldn’t wait to blast out the car door and run over to the playground. They loved the tire swings this time, and the girls would have spent the entire time on this swing, had we let them.
Matthew climbed to his heart’s content without Audrey trying to win or push him over, haha. Just hanging out with his mama and enjoying his time. We have been coming to this park since Grace was a baby and we have brought our kids here often, but often enough for them 🙂 I love this boy with all my heart.
We wandered around trying out all the equipment – slides, ride-ons, racing around the tracks, and let the kids play to their heart’s content. Aaron and I chatted, chased kids and talked of the future. I love that about us – we are a true partnership, in all its reality.
When the kids had had their fill of playing and their tummies were grumbling, we took them to lunch to a local favorite – El Paso – for some Mexican food. They each have their favorite chair and get the exact same thing every time we go 😀
It was fun to have lunch together as a family and the kids are getting better at eating out, but still always keeping us on our toes. Time flies so fast and these kids are growing up! We had a wonderful day and ended the evening with some scripture activities.
A good start to the year!
