Noon Year’s Eve

January 1, 2021

I have to be honest here. I admit I had never heard of this term ‘Noon Year’s Eve’ before until a few days ago, when a friend mentioned that she was thinking of hosting a party. The idea was to celebrate New Year’s Eve in the hours leading up to noon( 12 o’clock) versus midnight (12 o’clock). What a fun idea! It works well for families to be able to celebrate with young children and still have a great time.

Our friend, Keri Higbee, a fantastic host, put together this party with games and crafts for the kids, food, balloons, music, and just fun. It was a lovely way to celebrate!

The kids made necklaces and bracelets, made hats out of cups and stickers, and rings out of sparkly wire cleaners, and generally had a blast with each other.

It was fun to get together with our adult friends, as well, and enjoy good company and food, and music. It was easy, chill, and loud with all the noisemakers – kids and toys. Haha!

When it was close to noon or just a few minutes after, Keri found a countdown video for the kids to use, and they had previously taped up a bunch of balloons on the ceiling. So, they started the countdown with all the kids yelling it out, and right at Happy New Year, Alex (Keri’s husband) tapped all the balloons out, and the kids went wild. They loved it and now, I want to do it every year!

Keri and Alex Higbee, the awesome hosts!

Thanks to Keri & Alex for hosting this wonderful party that I can tell will be a tradition in the Taylor household, from here on out. It was great to spend some time with our friends, our kids enjoyed themselves, and it was a wonderful way to ring out the old and celebrate the new. Happy New Year’s Eve, everyone!
