Today was the first Annual Pioneer Day Party organized by the Springfield Ward. It was held at the Laurel Hill Park and was a huge hit! It was the first time that the ward had an activity in over a year! It was well attended, and everyone had a wonderful time!
Josh Williams smoked approximately 90 lbs of meat, and everyone else pitched in with sides and dessert. I signed up to bring beans and brownies. I made Cheryl Taylor’s baked beans and they were great! Skipped out on making the brownies because I realized late in the game, that I was out of butter. There were so many desserts at the party anyway, the brownies weren’t missed. 🙂
There were games, crafts, tons of food, lots of friends, and it was wonderful to be together as a ward family. We didn’t get a chance to make too many new friends coz we were so busy catching up with all our old friends whom we had not seen since we moved back! The kids got to decorate their bikes and enjoyed a brief bike parade. My kids held up fairly decently considering it was well past their bedtimes. It was a fun evening and the ward did a great job organizing this event!
