One of our friends in church works for the National Geographic Society, and was kind enough to invite us to tour the place. I have been a fan of the Nat Geo for as long as I can remember. So, I was very excited!
Needless to say, it was cold and windy on the day we went to DC for our tour. But we got there, and our friend treated us to lunch in the Nat Geo cafeteria, which was really quite amazing! They had different sections for grilled food, pizza, soups, turkey dinners and I had the Mongolian BBQ with Shredded Beef. Yumm-O!
Our first stop was the exhibit titled: The President’s Photographer. It was a series of 50 or so photographs of the different presidents, behind the scenes and some candid ones. Being one who loves photography, this was a fun exhibit.
After this exhibit, we toured the halls of Nat Geo, decked with the most stunning photographs I had ever seen! We also got the inside tour of Hubbard Hall, dedicated to the first President of The National Geographic Society and it held some very cool books, that I coveted and wanted for my own collection!
We had a great time and my photography spidey-senses were all tingling again! Time to start taking some pictures 😀
