Maybe it was the wrong time of day, maybe it was due to Covid, maybe a combination of both, but I don’t remember Trolley Square being this empty or quiet. Aaron wanted to do something as a family, so we all loaded up and went in search of an adventure. 🙂 Although it didn’t end up being the adventure we wanted, it was nice to get out of the house, and explore.
I loved visiting Trolley Square when I lived in Utah, a long time ago. One of my favorite places to go to was The Old Spaghetti Factory and I was really looking forward to that. But, thanks to Covid, they had limited hours, and were not open. The kids, however, couldn’t care less, and just loved running free and checking out all the fun lights and toys.
As the children ran around and worked off their energy, I popped downstairs into the Williams Sonoma store, just to waltz in and admire all the lovely Christmas-y things they had, and dream of having a kitchen with every single tool, spoon, dish, towel, food, recipe book they had. Since I had some “pressing deadlines aged 6-2, I had to waltz back outside just as quickly, but it sure was nice to dream. All I managed to take a pic of was this.
Impromptu trips tend to mean we don’t always time things right, and this was one of those times. We missed seeing the big, jolly man in a red suit hanging out in his “globe”, courtesy, once again, of Covid 🙂
The highlight of the trip had nothing to do with Trolley Square though. It was actually this place – Curry in a Hurry! I used to live two blocks away from here, and would stop by after college classes, and grab a box of the best Chicken Curry to relish at home, after a long, hard day at school! I couldn’t believe they were still there, in the same spot, and serving the same delicious curry. So, I had Aaron turn around and stop in the alley way, while I ran in and got myself a box of memories. Totally worth it!
Moral of the trip: Even if it didn’t end up being awfully adventurous, it certainly was memorable for me 😉
Grace wanted me to post this picture because she took it 🙂
